I just wanted to know whether anyone else has experienced the same thing? I love this soap and was delighted to be able to buy it here in the US, my only complaint is that the label (which is one of the unique things about this soap) is supposed to be used to rest the soap on when not in use so that it dries out and doesn't get soggy by contact with the soap dish - remember the advertising slogan "Imperial Leather rests on its name" ?

The Imperial Leather story is quite nice, the scent is based on an original perfume made for Count Olaf ( yes that was a real person) called 'Eau de Cologne Imperiale Russe' 1798.

The original soap is white in color and smells great. I will by direct from supplier in Scotland next time . I am not impressed with this company.

I should have read the 1-star reviews before purchasing. This is the cheap Thai version, not the U.K. version. What little of the wonderful scent of the real Imperial Leather soap is in the packaging disappears shortly after opening and certainly not there when you wash with it. I purchased a pack of 6 bars of Imperial Leather Soap. I am currently using the first one in the powder room. It is very messy and so much waste is occurring as when the soap is wet so much more of the product is dispersed and leaves a mess on the hand towel and in the basin. So much more water has to be used to get the soap off your hands.
